Curious question about Penn State

Penn State’s Wide Receivers Coach Mike McQueary got to keep his job after Joe Paterno was fired.  McQueary was the guy who reported seeing former Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky raping a 10-year-old boy in the showers at Penn State to Coach Paterno.

Since McQueary witnessed the crime, couldn’t he have actually stepped in and said, “HEY…STOP RAPING THAT 10-YEAR-OLD BOY!”?

And, since he didn’t, shouldn’t he be held responsible, too?

And, if the argument is that he told his superior and moved on, isn’t that the same thing Paterno did?

And, if so, why the hell should Mike McQueary still have a job, too?  Let me just repeat: he could have interrupted the actual crime itself.  He’s almost criminally responsible.
